If you have pain in any part of your body come see us! Your jaw, your headaches, your ankle pain, hand or back pain, and more can benefit with qualified healthcare practitioners.
We can also help with dizziness/vertigo, pelvic floor issues (eg incontinence) and pre- and post-op.
We are able to assess you thoroughly, and establish a diagnosis. IF we have serious concerns about your symptoms we are trained to identify these and help you get prompt medical attention (like an undiagnosed fracture, blood clot etc) we will send you with a note for your doctor to order more tests or imaging (Xrays, MRI, CT scan)
Your consent is an essential component of assessment and treatment. You may revoke your consent at any time. We aim to make you feel comfortable discussing this with your practitioner.
Bring your prescription for therapy IF you have one. It may be required for your Extended Health Benefits and direct billing.
If you have any Xrays or other imaging on the area of concern we can review reports with you. The more information we have the better-informed your care will be.
An initial verbal evaluation by the therapist will discuss the following:
The therapist will then perform the objective physical evaluation which may include some of the following:
Well, there is no precise answer to this because it depends on how bad your injury is, the care you get, and your participation in your recovery.
The average person attends around 7 Physiotherapy sessions for a simple injury, with the last few visits spaced weeks apart.
Healing takes 3-12 weeks for most injuries, but variables such as life stressors, nutrition, treatment compliance, activity levels and severity of injury will impact this timeline.
Chronic injuries take much longer to heal, and in the case of an arthritic knee, for example, we may be working on teaching you self-management of your pain.
WE love to answer YOUR questions! Please ask your practitioner about your recovery timeline after they assess you.
Yes, most of the time.
There are a few insurers or plans that do not allow us to submit on your behalf.
Please bring in your insurance card or information for us to process online while you're in with your Physio, Chiro or other practitioner
Because everyone has different coverage and we cannot call your insurer please check your policy to see what you have coverage for.
Please wear loose or stretchy clothing to enable you to move comfortably
For massage you will need to remove clothing in the treatment area, and you will be draped with a sheet or blanket for your comfort and modesty.
IF you are very uncomfortable with removing your clothing please discuss this with your treating therapist and accommodations will be made.
We aim to ensure you feel safe and comfortable during your sessions.
If you wear a diagonal striped shirt for an assessment this messes up our visual on your posture.
Physiotherapists and Chiropractors are primary care providers and you are allowed to access us directly without seeing a doctor first.
However, some insurance plans still require one before they will reimburse you. Please check your individual plan.
Please ask and we will do our best to accommodate you.
